The ̽������ Criminal Justice Program will hold two continuing education courses, one for law professionals and one for police officers, on Friday, March 25, to cover topics on law, ethics, religion, civil discord, politics, and policing in the United States.

In “Law, Ethics, and Religion in America,” Kevin Govern, professor of law at Ave Maria School of Law, will discuss how the unchanging moral directives of natural law should influence a lawyer’s practice. The course will run from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Registration is $149.

In a course for police, law enforcement, and justice professionals, former NYPD detective Bob Matthiessen will address “Civil Discord, Politics, and Policing in the U.S.” Bringing his own experiential record into play, he will talk about the defund police movement, the politicization of policing functions, and new approaches to police community relations. The course is from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Registration is $129.
