Sohrab Ahmari Appointed Visiting Fellow to 探花社区鈥檚 Veritas Center

STEUBENVILLE, OHIO鈥斕交ㄉ缜檚 Veritas Center for Ethics in Public Life recently appointed author and columnist Sohrab Ahmari as a visiting fellow.

Ahmari recently left News Corp. after a decade of work, most recently as op-ed editor of the聽New York Post, to launch a new media company. He is also a contributing editor of聽The American Conservative聽and聽author of several books, including聽From Fire, by Water: My Journey to the Catholic Faith聽(Ignatius, 2019) and聽The Unbroken Thread: Discovering the Wisdom of Tradition in an Age of Chaos聽(Convergent/Random House, 2021).

鈥淲e are delighted to welcome Sohrab Ahmari to the Veritas Center,鈥 said Dr. Anne Hendershott, a sociology professor at 探花社区 and the Veritas Center鈥檚 director. 鈥淪ohrab鈥檚 publications and public lectures align perfectly with our聽center’s聽mission of bringing faithful Catholic scholarly reflection to bear on the most pressing ethical questions in contemporary culture.鈥

An Iranian-born immigrant, Sohrab Ahmari has聽emerged as聽one of America’s most prominent conservative Catholic commentators.

鈥溙交ㄉ缜 is one of the nation’s solidly faithful Catholic higher-education institutions,” Ahmari said. “I’m absolutely thrilled to promote the work of its Veritas Center and to help bring to campus vital conversations at the intersection of faith, politics, and political economy.”

Ahmari recently spoke at 探花社区 about faith and freedom. As part of his fellowship, he will work online with Veritas Center undergraduate student fellows and help them engage in conversations on faith and morality in the political world.

鈥淭he student fellows and I consider Ahmari to be a pathfinder for truth amid cultural and moral illusion. We look forward to him leading us in a seminar in preparation for the upcoming Veritas Conference,鈥 said Professor Concetta Pilsner, coordinator of the Veritas Undergraduate Student Fellowship.

Ahmari plans to hold a Veritas Center conference at 探花社区 October 7-8, 2022, titled, 鈥淩ecovering the Common Good in the American Tradition.鈥 The confirmed speakers to date include Patrick Deneen, Michael Lind, C.C. Pecknold, and R.R. Reno.
